A Picture Says A Thousand Words

Has anyone seen Lindsay Lohan on the new cover of NewYork Magazine channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe. I personally dont like the shoot, I don't think she did Marilyn any justice....

Only Great Minds Can Afford A Simple Style

This past week has been so great for me and yet so sad. Being able to attend two shoes during fashion week is a definite milestone, but now that its over, i miss it already. Anyway, I had to share the second show I was so happy to help out with..the Project Runway Finale!!! And what an amazing show it was. I had to include some of my favorite pieces but of course I wont tell you whose they were and spoil the show:

Here are some of the pics I took:

Heidi Klum

Sweet Pea

Chris

Jillian

Rami

And my husband Christian!!!

I cant wait to see the finale to know who wins (of course my vote goes for Christian)!!

Artistic Movement

So I had the opportunity to go to this really odd art exhibit at my school yesterday. It was called Deep Pop and it was based on a variety of artists who create fine art inspired by the world of pop imagery. The stuff was a bit weird but really interesting. Below are some of the most interesting pieces I saw:

Art and Life

So I just got this really random email to check out this online exhibit. This was the description I was given:

A strange population has invaded the city. Most of them spend their day watching what's happening in the streets. Everyone seems frozen in a posture. Most often standing, sheltered behind large plate glass windows. Some lower their eyes, others seem to be watching you stubbornly. Sometimes they smile. They remain however discreet, staying behind the sidewalk. Although they were unknown, their silhouettes become familiar over the meetings. We can see a wide variety of profiles. However, they are all beautiful... Who are these thousands of people that we crossed in the street without ever truly meet them? How the appearances build our judgments? What self-image we feel in watching others? How fashion dresses our gaze? The "beautiful attitude" to fill the emptiness of our relationships? It's also an experimental work on light and color.

After reading this I came to the conclusion that they were talkin about mannequins. I dunno, I got a bit confused. Anyway I went to the site and found some really interesting pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

These are from the Body Buildings Collection

These are from the Heads In Trees Collection

View From the 31st Floor

So today I went to my cousin's apartment, smack in the middle of Manhattan (around 59th st Columbus Circle). Anyway every time i go there, it makes we want to live in a high rise near all the hustle and bustle of the city. One day when i can afford the $10,000+ a month rent I know it will happen!! Here are some shots I took from the apartment (on the 31st floor). [Click to see bigger; the shots are amazingly clear]
